New Features 🙌

  • Third world: underwater/alien theme. This includes several new enemies and a boss.
  • Challenge rooms and upgrades! Compete against waves of enemies to earn a weapon or ability upgrade.
  • Player can now aim in eight directions
  • Add command line argument for v-sync (pass -vsync)
  • Add exploding barrels (experimental)

Bug Fixes/Improvements 🐛

  • Touching sword boss no longer freezes player
  • Improve wall cling (reduce “stickiness”/fix a framerate dependence issue)
  • Improve wall jump (should now be much easier to jump away from walls)
  • Fix for player able to jump from anywhere
  • Coins and health now persist between levels
  • Player can now be controlled with left analog stick, in addition to d-pad. Player can no longer be controlled with WASD.
  • Various visual improvements, additional particle effects, etc.
  • Various level generation tweaks

Balance Changes

  • Death is now permanent ☠
  • Player now spawns with 4 hearts (out of a max of 5)
  • Remove shield for floating head enemies (for now...)
  • Remove sticky ground modifier in first level
  • Minor sword boss (world 2) AI/behaviour changes

Known Issues

  • Abrupt ending (upon beating third world, you will be returned to the start screen)
  • Challenge room, world 2 and 3 bosses missing music
  • Some SFX missing or out of place
  • Destructible blocks don’t always take damage from player bullets
